Asterilin was a runaway from her household in the south of Antoria. She was the daughter of a chambermaid in a noble house, who grew tired of the lacivious attention of the young nobles who sought to have their way with a lowly servant's daughter. When her mother simply told her to mind her station and accept anything the nobles did with grace and silence, she grew angry and vowed never to be a servant to anyone again. She fled her home and bummed her way north, eventually hooking up with a consummate conman named Garilous. From Garilous she learned the arts of both subterfuge and gambling, and he used the innocent-seeming waif to help him cheat at cards.

Over time, what was a perfectly platonic relationship blossomed naturally into something more as Asterilin came into womanhood, and she came to share his bed. However, the constant life on the move, camping out in the wet wilds when things got too "hot" eventually took its toll on the aging Garilous, and he succumbed to illness. Asterilin took over Garilous' business, and made a quick sum of money before deciding to take her business to somewhere where she and Garilous were not known. She headed north, arriving in the Far Coast in N.S. 22, and has begun to make her fortune touring the larger towns of the Far Coast both legitimately gambling and running a few cons.

Asterilin is a slender, well-built and beautiful woman, with long flaming red hair and auburn eyes and freckled skin. She is 26 years old and carries herself with confidence, though she can affect an air of slumbering vulnerability when she desires. Asterilin desires to perfect her craft and to accumulate enough money to one day open her own gambling house. Eventually, she intends to become a landed lady, so as to, in effect, even the scales of her early experiences in the Imperial Heartland.
