Theenerius is a loner at heart, more comfortable by himself in the wilds testing himself physically and mentally against nature. He is ill at ease in crowds and nervous in cities and towns. Though he doesn't talk much about his past, he will admit that his parents were humble folk who lived on the edge of a forest in the Upper Antorian Marches, and that he spent much of his youth learning the ways of the forests. His father was a loyal lay member of the temple of Firlott, and Theenerius was taught much woodcraft and nature lore by the kindly priest of that god who tended a nearby shrine. When his father died of old age and his mother returned to spend her golden years with her family in the Empire, Theenerius moved to the Far Coast, feeling that the frontier province would provide him more chances to escape civilization and enjoy pristine woodlands.

Theenerius now hunts in the high forests of the Far Coast, bringing pelts down in the spring to trade at Dwillingir in exchange for supplies. Otherwise, he lives in a log cabin near the Laughing Woods. His loyalty to House Riverine is merely a remnant of his father, who was a member of Riverine in the Marches. Theenerius continues to favour Riverine in honour of his late father's memory.

The ranger is 25 years old, with sandy red hair that falls to his shoulders and a similarly coloured beard and moustache.
