Garak is a Dark Troll. He was born in 1611 in the troll held section of Pavis, to the Clan Broobasher. This clan is a cadet branch of the descendants of the Troll hero Garak.

Garak has seven siblings: Gvaxx (male, age 25), Xiona (female, age 22), Rambar (male, age 19), and a litter of Trollkin (2 male and 2 females surviving). The latter are a blot on the family honour and results in Garak's particular dislike of Trollkin. He is questing and adventuring in part to achieve fame and remove the Trollkin blot from his family's name.

Garak joined the Cult of Kyger Litor at age 14 and was initiated at age 15. He later joined the Zorak Zorani at age 17. A year later a brief political conflict between Kyger Litor leaders and Zorak Zorani leaders forced Garak to give up his Lay membership in Zorak Zoran.

Garak became interested later in the berserker themes of Stormbull. He entered the local Cult of Stormbull and achieved Initiate status. He is adventuring on the request of his priest. He has also lately taken to revering Orlanth through the latter's ties to Stormbull.

Garak, as part of his Zorak Zorani membership, routinely made forays against humans and Elves, but he bears no more animousity towards them than is normal for Uz (which is to say quite a bit against Aldryami!).

Garak tends to respect warriors and admires anyone able to wield large weapons in combat. Oddly, he prefer to wield swords over maces due to frustration over his relatively low level of strength as compared to others of his race.

Garak enjoys Trollball and played defensive left on his local team.

Due to his heritage as a Troll and his allegience to Stormbull, Garak despises Chaos with a fury unmatched by any other dislikes in his life.
