Background:
Meredros has always been he whom Therrans swear upon when they mean to keep their bargains. One of the gods who first listened to the Deceiver in an effort to end the gods' war, the Deceiver's treachery stung him most to the core. His followers on Therra were some of the most vaunted foes of the Deceiver and certain factions and knighthoods were originally created simply to punish the Deceiver and his minions.
The religion commands great respect throughout all of Therra. Although not widely worshipped by the masses, because of their commitment and powers, priests and paladins of Meredros command great respect.
Alignment:
Lawful Good.
Favoured Weapon:
Sword.
Priestly Duties:
Priests generally come in two factions in this religion. First are the administrators and judges. These are primarily in populated, settled areas and serve as judges, lawspeakers, and even accountants and bankers. They are respected and trusted by the community and are expected to be fair and impartial in all matters.
The other faction involves those priests who accompany the knights, rangers, and paladins of this religion on their journeys of vigilance against and retribution upon the lawless and evil.
Other Limitations:
Priests of Meredros must never tell a lie. They must never seek to twist meanings or tell half truths either. If they hear a lie or half truth spoken in their vicinity, they are expected to correct the mistelling whenever possible. They may not hire assassins or thieves, nor may they travel with such ne'er-do-wells. They must keep their word and obey all laws unless extremely unjust or misapplied. They must report, dissuade, and/or bring to justice any law breakers they encounter.
Domains:
Law, Glory, Truth, Inquisition, Judgment, Justice.
Holy Symbol(s):
A set of scales.
