Predominant Areas:

Neengrum is primarily worshipped by dwarven women, for she represents the mysteries held within the earth. Gem cutters also revere her, including non-dwarves. Her worship is primarily found in dwarven lands, with scattered pockets in major human cities where gem cutters preside or in wild human lands near a volcano.

Mostly dwarves, with a few humans and gnomes.

Description:

A female dwarf with braided hair. She has precious gems for eyes and teeth and holds a bundle in her arms.

Background:

Neengrum is the maker of gems, for she burrowed through the earth planting her gems like seeds (in fact, a name for gems in Dwarvish is 'Earth-Seeds'). In doing so, she also created caves and caverns. Neengrum is also the goddess of lava, coal, blast powder, and is called the mother of mithria. She is the wife of Weshta-Grum and the mother of Malaktum.

Priestly Duties:

Priests are expected to divine the secrets of the earth and to learn the lore of the earth and to teach the community to use that lore wisely, without destroying the earth. Human priests of volcanoes are also expected to placate the goddess, so that the volcano will not erupt.

Other Limitations:

Priests of this cult are usually female, although a few male priests exist. Most are dwarves, except for primitive humans worshipping volcanoes.
