Name:

VASTALLA, Mistress of Mercy, Balm of Therra.

Sphere:

Goddess of Healing, Mercy, Kindness, Compassion, Peace and Childbearing.

Predominant Areas:

All areas of Therra.

Races:

Predominantly human, with some half-elves, elves, and halflings.

Description:

A middle aged woman in nun's garb holding a sprig in one hand and a staff in the other.

Background:

While the gods waged war, Vastalla urged peace. She tended the wounded gods and sang her songs of peace, but alas, often to no avail. When the war ended, Vastalla set about organizing the healing of the world. Now, her followers are admired as sanctuary-givers and dispensers of aid and succor.

Alignment:

Neutral Good (all priests must be Good).

Favoured Weapon:

Staff.

Priestly Duties:

Vastallan priests are expected to aid the poor and the sick whenever called upon. They are often used as peacemakers or ambassadors by those seeking peace. Most civilized beings will not harm a Vastallan priest or nun, although evil creatures do so with relish. These priests often wear white garb and a blue emblem in order to identify themselves as Vastallana. While not required, it is customary to donate a gift equal to the service performed when tended by Vastallan priests.

Other Limitations:

Vastallan priests may not actively seek out combat. In other words, while they may accompany a group of warriors, they must always seek to remove themselves from the battle, using their staves as defense only as a last resort.

Domains:

Healing, Renewal, Good, Exorcism, Protection, Pleasure.

Holy Symbol(s):

A sprig of healing herbs wound around a small twig.
