The Ballad of Traitors

Introduction: Music is a bard's most potent weapon, and this song was written shortly after the Gorbesh Wars when Annakie and Belderaj tried to sell bards to the Gorbesh in exchange for weapons.

Therrilliar sings this song so that good people will not forget or forgive these foul deeds.

It is of some worthy note that Dredded was later slain by a band of outlaws that may have been in the pay of Annakie.

Bar the doors and douse the lights
for this song I sing to you this night
tells of a most foul villainy
by the false paladin Belderaj
and his dimwit pet Annakie

'Twas during the dreaded Gorbesh fight
when Arthe was sacked and Dirge alight
and brave defenders fought to save
our homes and lives from evil tide
though their blood was shed and lives they gave

But Annakie and Belderaj cowards both
sought to serve our enemies loathe
and so they searched for hidden Wren
to deliver her helpless up
to a foul and most cruel captive end

Traitorous scum! Betrayers of life!
fattened yourselves on the travails of strife
but the gods they are watching your vile way
and soon will there be a judgement day!

When Wren these two oafs could not find
they turned to others of her kind
and tried to kidnap an innocent bard
to sell to the Gorbesh
and all justice and honour discard

So the villains entered the guild on a ruse
and tried to grab a bard to abuse
but brave Dredded lept to protect and defend
the confused young bard
and the scum were routed and fled

But beware my fellow tellers of tales
for while the war is done and we prevailed
Annakie and Belderaj still ply the land
to follow the coward's path
and take what bards they can

Traitorous scum! Betrayers of life!
fattened yourselves on the travails of strife
but the gods they are watching your vile way
and soon will there be a judgement day!

And all non bards who follow the light
we beg you to do what is good and right
for bards though warriors we sometimes be
we are singers and tellers
and your aid do we need

so that the traitors be stopped and Wren be freed.
