The purpose of this page is to list out the various tricks and special purposes that can be taught to an animal.

| Ambush |
|
Animal will hide and attack the first foe to come close. |
|
| Assist Attack |
|
Animal will aid your attack or the attacks of another. |
|
| Assist Defend |
|
Animal will aid your defense or that of another. |
|

|
Animal will aid your attempt to track. |
|

| Bestow Venom |
|
Vermin will give up some of its venom. |
|
| Bull Rush |
|
Animal will attempt to bull rush a designated creature. |

| Defend | 20 | Animal defends you. | PHB |
| Disable |
|
Animal will back off once its foe has been disabled. |

| Disarm |
|
Animal attempts to disarm a designated creature. |
|

|
Animal will dive into water as you direct and swim underwater. |

| Don't Attack |
|
Animal will not attack a specific person. |
|
| Down | 15 | Animal breaks off from combat or otherwise backs down. | PHB |
| Fetch | 15 | Animal goes and gets something. | PHB |
| Guard | 20 | Animal stays in place and prevents others from approaching. | PHB |
| Heel | 15 | Animal follows you closely. | PHB |

| Hold |
|
Animal initiates a grapple attack and attempts to hold an enemy. |
|
| Home |
|
Animal will return to the location where it was trained. |
|
| Hunt |
|
Animal will attempt to hunt and forage for food and return with it. |
|
| Jump |
|
Animal will perform a jump as you direct. |
|
| Mark |
|
Animal moves near a designated creature and endeavours to stay as close to it as possible. |
|
| Overrun |
|
Animal will attempt to overrun a designated creature. |
|
| Perform | 15 | Animal performs a variety of simple tricks. | PHB |
| Scent Fighting | 20 | Animal is trained to help its rider or handler fight against a creature it cannot see. | RoS |
| Seek | 15 | Animal moves into an area and looks around for anything animate. | PHB |
| Seek | 15 | Animal with scent ability will use that ability when it seeks. | RoS |
| Special Ability |
|
Animal will use one of its special abilities to the exclusion of other options. |

| Special Movement | 20 | Animal will use one specific special movement mode it does not normally possess. | RoS |
| Stalk |
|
Animal will follow a target, doing its best to remain undetected, until the target is wounded or resting, whereupon it will attack. |

Animal will grab an object in possession of a target, wrest it away, and bring it to you. |

|
Animal deals nonlethal damage. |

| Swim |
|
Animal will enter water and swim. |

|
Animal attempts to trip foes. |

|
Animal makes warning sound when it detects new creatures coming near. |

|
Vermin shoots web at closest hostile creatures. |

|
